Does Your Hairstylist Use Olaplex?

Can you imagine your stylist knowing they have the “Holy Grail Of Hair” at their disposal to create the perfect color, chemically straighten curly frizzy hair and re-texturize fine lifeless hair compliments of a body wave with ZERO damage ?

Olaplex  is the brainchild of Dean Christal, an industry “beauty professional” by osmosis. Dean grew up around the beauty industry, his entire family is (or was) in the beauty profession.  At the time Dean was looking for a UV protectant for the hair that would  last at least  25 shampoos, he spent 3 years and massive amounts of money doing so, but he was falling short of his goal and nearly gave up. One of the scientists working with Dean gave him the name of Craig Hawker at University of California -Santa Barbara,  telling him if anyone could solve this riddle it was Craig. When they met Craig  asked Dean, “if your industry could have anything, what would it be?” Dean said, “for hair never to break again , of course”?  Craig introduced Dean to Dr. Eric Pressly and the rest is history!!

What Does Olaplex Claim To Do?

Olaplex strengthens hair by reconnecting and linking broken disulfide sulphur bonds back together again, leaving hair, stronger, thicker, smoother and truly healthier.  It’s a “bond multiplier”, meaning it multiplies the bonds in the hair and strengthens  hair, which limits damage during and after any chemical service.  The bonds in the hair break down from coloring, chemical treatments, environmental stressors such as flat irons, blow dryers  and chemicals in our water. Olaplex allows you to do things to  hair which were previously looked upon as highly risky with less that desirable results.

How Do You Use Olaplex?

Olaplex is used during color services as an additive to the color or bleach to protect the hair. If you are going  from a darker color  to a pale blonde or lighter , Olaplex can be used in between each bleaching as well. I’ve used Olaplex to “revitalize”  naturally dry, curly, frizzy  hair,  to help refine the frizz and allow the natural curl to re-emerge. It also works beautifully with perms, layering it over the rods during neutralization.  Olaplex works wonders as a stand alone treatment also.  I alternate Olaplex treatments with moisturizing treatments for my clients. The results always stand up to the claims, there has never been anything like Olaplex and there never will be due to a “unique patented chemistry” that links the sulfur hydrogen bonds in the hair.

Here's the progression of going lighter over a 2 year period with Olaplex. Beautiful, damage free results.

At Home Care

Olaplex is a 2 step process as an in-salon treatment. To extend the benefits and keep the hair strong and healthy, there is a # 3 treatment to use at home , once a week BEFORE you shampoo.

If you haven’t experienced Olaplex  on your hair, it’s time, everyone can benefit from the results. Your hair will be shinier , stronger and more manageable. Ask your stylist if they carry Olaplex and make it part if your hair care  routine, you won’t be disappointed!! In a world of false promises Olaplex  delivers!!!
