31 Day Skin Care Re-Boot Challenge Day 21

Day 21

Treat Yourself To A Body Massage

When was the last time you enjoyed  a body massage? If you’re the “average Josie”, probably way to long. But who wants to be an “average Josie?” Massage has so many benefits, where do I begin….

Every year when I go on vacation I get at least 2 massages and throughout the year I plan on at least 4-6 more.   Massage is sometimes perceived as a luxury but in reality it’s a “mind mending, body healing, emotional oasis.”

Massage is all about deserving… do you feel you’re worth it? Human touch is healing. It’s leaving yourself open to being vulnerable, laying bare to the healing touch of another human.  A great massage therapist keeps you at ease and can tune into whatever your body needs at any given time.  If you don’t feel you deserve healing touch , no one else will.

With that being said, anyone that you invite into your personal space needs to resonate with your particular energy. We are all made of energy, vibrating as a collective whole, so whomever you allow to pierce your subtle body energy and mix with your deeper personal energy needs to be positive, loving and compassionate. Getting a referral is always the best way to find a massage therapist.

There are many benefits to massage, where can massage fit into your life:

  • Manage Anxiety and Depression
  • Ease Pain
  • Improve Sleep
  • Boost Immunity
  • Raise Alertness
  • Curb Headaches
  • Ease Cancer Treatments
  • Joint Flexibility
  • Promotes Tissue regeneration, reduces scar tissue and stretch marks
  • Reduces Spasms and Cramping
  • Post-surgery Adhesions and Swelling

Before you make an appointment, familiarize yourself with the type of massage that will work best  for you and ask yourself “what are my long-term goals with massage”. Is it simply for stress relief or do you need symptomatic relief from an injury or illness.

  • Shiatsu Massage
  • Hot Stone Massage
  • Swedish Massage
  • Sports Massage
  • Deep Tissue Massage
  • Thai Massage
  • Neuromuscular Therapy  Massage
  • Chair Massage
  • Reflexology Massage

Honor yourself, research and see which type of massage will benefit you the most….

If you found this information valuable, please LIKE AND SHARE WITH FRIENDS.  I’d love to hear about your experience and what benefits you  received!
